Sofitel Shahd Al Madinah, Medina

Staying at this hotel beside our Prophet Mosque in Medinah was an experience of mixed feelings. While the room was eventually upgraded to a very spacious and bright suite after some delay, the promises made were not fully kept, leaving a bit of disappointment. The service, however, was outstanding with exceptional housekeeping staff but with a slight inconvenience regarding breakfast times. The location near the Prophet's Mosque was ideal for Ziyaarah, though cleanliness was a bit lacking. The dining experience was simply amazing but slightly affected by poor waiter service. Overall, a stay with highs and lows.

The hotel is conveniently close to Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi, which is excellent for easy access to the holy site. The room upgrade from deluxe to junior suite for free was a pleasant surprise, but the cleanliness of the room was below expectations.

I was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable and well-equipped rooms at the hotel. They were more spacious than expected, but unfortunately, they tended to be very cold even when the AC was turned off.

Dining excels in variety and service but faces challenges with seat availability due to high demand.
